How to Wear a Shawl in 5 min?

shawladdict is an online shop selling mostly shawls. I like their shawls although I do not wear them. Well... I do have 4 shawls, 2 blacks and the other 2 are dark red and dark green - wore them a few times only. It's just that I need a bigger size shawls compared to most shawls that can be found either online or not. But today, I'm not talking about where to buy the shawl but how to style it as your hijab.

FYI, all pictures are curtsy of shawladdict so please give them a visit for more interesting info. Let's take a look at how to wear the shawl.

FIRST STEP: Put the shawl on your head and make sure that one side is longer than the other and pin it under your chin. Pull tightly both sides to the opposite sides.

SECOND STEP: Wrap the longer side above your head.

THIRD STEP: Insert the hijab pin on the short end to secure it.

FOURTH STEP: You can insert the end of the shawl under your chin.

FIFTH STEP: Use a brooch to pin the end of the shorter side on your shoulder.

SIXTH STEP: Walla! It's finish and looks stylish. Isn't it?

I would like to thank shawladdict for this simple and interesting hijab style. Hopefully this style will benefit many sisters who like wearing shawls. DON'T FORGET, if you could have a bigger chest coverage is better.

ah well ds ll help me ...given every indian dress comes with a shawl..and at times i try to avoid scarf and shawl together and rather just stick to shawl....

P.S. in india a dress (traditional salwar kameez) is consideed incomplete w/out shawl and so u have to wear and HANDLE oth the scarf and shawl...

P.P.S. thats another reason why i love abaya...no shawl ka jhanjhat :D :P

Everyone - thanks for the comments. I agree with malizea, this is good for beginners and like sha said, looks elegant. and gulshan, I think after this you can try use that shawl as hijab like this style right, no need for another scarf, hehe and you know what, nowadays if you buy abaya, sometimes you also get an accompanying shawl/shayla.

How is she able to bring the scarf forward over her forehead? Can you show us how to do this, Kakchik? I have lots of shawls but I can never set them right!

CC, actually you need to wear an undercap to make sure the scarf stays like that. Shawls are pretty light and slippery so please wear an undercap preferably cotton so that the scarf can be shaped and wrapped nicely.

I wore my hijab like that kak Chik, it is very convenient and easy but I would prefer a bigger and longer hijab that really covers my chest and back.

Yes, a bigger and longer shayla would be better. I've tried this style before but just can't get use to it. I just cannot imitate her.
