"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. (30)
And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! Turn ye all together towards Allah that ye may attain Bliss. (31) "
Assalamualaikum to all my friends and visitors. Thank you for still visiting me at KakChik's Wardrobe. Alhamdulillah everything is quite good over here except for the weather that is getting hotter by the days and water supplies are start having problem. Nevertheless, life is still great and I finally can rest for a while after finishing my mid-term exam yesterday.
I don't think I've mention here what I'm studying about. Well, although I already have a degree in Computer Science & Management, I am also interested in Early Childhood Education. And currently I'm doing my diploma in ECE with one more year to go.
Anyway, what I'm really want to talk about is about this kind of fashion. This idea was triggered yesterday when I saw a fellow classmates wearing their clothes just like the girls in the pictures below. I'm so sorry for putting these pics here but I think by using them as examples, my point will be more easily understand.
You are wearing clothes but you cover nothing!
How can men lower their gazes when you show yourselves like this?
I know you know about our obligation to cover our self properly according to Islamic hijab but I don't know why you interpret it like this. Or... don't you understand it?

Day by day I keep seeing more and more Muslim women in my country wearing this type of fashion. Simply say, "cover but not covering at all". There's no meaning of wearing that headscarf on your head when your clothes have done nothing in the way of hiding those curves. Sad really, because I'm paralyzed to even give nasihah to these sisters whom I met in class and in town. I'm getting angry with my self for being so helpless although I know that reminding them is my duty as a fellow Muslim.
One thing that's very clear to me is, YOU HURT MY EYES!

I think you are right... no point in wearing the hijab dressed like that!
OWh!! Ouchh!!...
Moga mereka2 ni akan diberikan petunjuk & hidayah...
Betul kak.
Islamic modesty is not just about covering your skin, it’s about concealing your shape as well.
What's the point of wearing hijab if you're going to be wearing tight & revealing clothes anyway? Cover your hair but show off your body? That doesn't make sense.
melihatkan kpd posting kak chik kali nie, ia menyedarkan sy spy perbaiki cra berpakaian..malu juge sy lihat gmbr2 tu..thanks kakchik.
kakchik, ade lagi, yang berpakaian longgar tapi jarang..heheh..tu pon ramai..
ouchhhhh kena tembak ngan kakchik eeehehehe :)
some may think that once cover yr head, u are already covering yr aurat.. things like these happend in my country too.
Dressed but undressed ...
if they were to wear that in my uni compound they are sure to be fine
salam kakchik,
u made tht point very clear here. it's good for sharing. thanks.
i think i read somewhere (online perhaps) that PAS banned this such tight outfit, tho with headscarf.
how's the execution now
Salam Chik,
yupp...sedih & malu bila tengok ni semua, lebih sedih lagi bila org tu rapat dgn kita...tapi akk masih tak mampu nak bersuara....lemahnya hambamu ni ya Allah!!!
Hmmm. Maybe if you were to speak to them about everyday things while making a big show of gawking at their chests they might get the hint?
CECILIA, CORRECT SIS! BUT SO MANY MUSLIM WOMEN ARE COVERING LIKE THIS. WHAT SHALL WE DO?
SHA, KAKCHIK PUN HARAPKAN BEGITU. KESIAN MEREKA KERANA TURUT MEMBUATKAN KITA BERDOSA. KITA NI LEMAH.
SYAZ, CABARAN UNTUK KITA MEMPERBETULKAN TANGGAPAN TERSEBUT.
ADAWIYAH, PERSESPSI RAMAI WANITA ISLAM MUNGKIN JADI BEGINI DISEBABKAN PENGARUH KEHIDUPAN MODEN YANG LIBERAL. AGAKNYA KESAN DAKWAH BELUM SAMPAI KEPADA MEREKA.
Hijab Chic, THEY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AT ALL. THEY ARE CONFUSED AND MAKE PEOPLE CONFUSED TOO. WE PRAY AND HOPE THAT ONE DAY THEY'LL SEE THAT WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS WRONG AND REPENT.
ALIA, ALHAMDULILLAH KALAU BEGITU DIK. SEMOGA ALLAH BERI KEMUDAHAN UNTUK KITA MENJAGA MARUAH DIRI KITA DENGAN SEBAIKNYA.
ayscha, I WAS THINKING OF MAKING POST ABOUT SHEER CLOTHING NEXT.
ENON, KAKCHIK BUKAN SAJA-SAJA TEMBAK TU... TAPI DIIRINGI DOA AGAR MEMBERI KEINSAFAN BUAT KITA SEMUA.
NOR, THAT OPINION DOES HAPPEN EVERYWHERE BUT IT'S MORE OBVIOUS HERE BECAUSE THIS IS AN 'ISLAMIC' COUNTRY.
HAJAR, YOU GOT THAT RIGHT SIS.
XUEN, I THINK GIRLS WEARING THIS TYPE OF FASHION MUST BE ANGRY WHEN THEY'RE FINED. HOPEFULLY NO SUCH CASE HAPPEN THERE.
WA'ALAIKUMMUSSALAM ery kumagai.
YOU ARE WELCOME SIS.
HMM... I'VE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH BANNING HERE. WHAT I KNOW IS THAT THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT REQUIRES ALL MUSLIM WOMEN WORKING IN GOV OFFICES AND AT ALL BUSINESS CENTERS AROUND TOWN TO WEAR MODEST CLOTHING AND HEADSCARVES ARE WAJIB.
UNDER HISBAH, THEIR POWER IS ONLY TO ADVICE MUSLIM WOMEN WHO WEAR SEXY CLOTHING BY ROUND THEM UP AND GIVE THOSE WOMEN SOME KIND OF ISLAMIC LECTURE.
IT IS STILL IN PRACTICE BUT I THINK THE OFFICERS ARE A BIT LENIENT THIS DAYS.
KMILLA, TERUSKAN USAHA KAK, INSYAALLAH SUATU HARI NANTI KMILLA AKAN BERJAYA JUGA.
CC, NOT ENOUGH TIME TO SPEAK WITH THEM BECAUSE I JUST MEET THEM TWICE A MONTH DURING MY CLASSES AND EVERYONE WAS IN A HURRY.
Yes you are right,,,
Unfortunately, di Indonesia banyak yang seperti itu
Salam KakChik, It's me Angelia. Now I have a new blog (Actually gonna be My Main Blog).
Salam kakchik..mata fa pun sakit tengok lah kakchik
DEAR ANGELIA,
YES.... IT'S VERY DISHEARTENING TO SEE OUR FELLOW SISTERS LIKE THAT. WE GOT TO WORK HARDER IN OUR DAKWAH.
AND MY DEAR, I'VE VISITED YOUR NEW BLOG & GONNA ADD THAT IN MY LINK TOO.
WKSLM FA,
MACAMANA KITA NAK TOLONG KURANGKAN PENYAKIT MATA NI FA?
KALAU MAKIN BANYAK MAKIN SAKIT LA MATA KITA KAN?
salam....
u take the words out of my mouth. funny thing is, i read somewhere written in a renown islamic female magazine in this this country that, dressing up like that is 'harus' so that the magazine will get to be picked up by readers in the periodicals competitive market. The thing is, people read newspapers, people read magazine, people watch tv, people watch advertisements... and look at how they use the female for the muslim market? covering hair with hijab and tight fitting costume, if not tranparent dress with glitteries. Yes islam love beauty. Islam is all about beauty, but islam definitely never teach us to display the beauty like that!
And? did anybody say anything about it? In fact.. there is Islamic Fashion Festival held every year for muslim fashions...
what is it for? i really do not understand. why?
wkslm teachernur.
this is a long overdue reply. pls forgive me.
bravo! that's very good comment sis.
i can't agree more.
