Malaysian Magazines...

most of the magazines for women now use a hijabi as their cover. Look at some of the examples below.

MUSLIMAH has always use a full covered Muslimah as it's cover.

ANIS too stick to full covered individuals as covers.

SERI DEWI & KELUARGA gradually changes the cover concept. This year they have more covered women on the front page. This magazine has more family issues.

NUR was dedicated to professional Muslimahs and always use covered models on the fornt page. I still have the first issue which was sold at RM1 a piece. Remember Najlah Ishak the former TV3 presenter? She was the first model.

And...

DARA.com is for teenagers and young adults. The issues inside usually suitable for college students and the fashion is more trendy.

All these magazines were subscribe monthly buy the Library and I love to look inside for inspirations and new knowledge about fashion, health tips and motivations.

Assalamu alaikum dear sister :o)

Whenever I see the cover of a malaysian/indonesian magazine I wonder why the cover girl doesn't look malay/indo AT ALL..at least not to me! What's up with that?

LOL, all of them are pure Malay except for Wardina (model with kids), she's of Australian-Acheh origin but she's Malaysian.

Maybe the genetic of the Malay has gone through lots of change over the years. We are a multi-races country. Mix marriage is common.

And some times it got to do with make up. Publishers also like to use Pan-Asian models as their covers that's why sometimes you can see that they look like a foreigner but they are Malay.

ZOORA - betul tu zoora.
