Assalamualaikum to all dear readers and friends.
Have you ever heard of the phrase 'window shopping'? I don't know whether this is a common phrase outside of Malaysia, you girls have to tell me. Anyway, this phrase is very common here. Whenever you go out with friends to just looking, walking, trying, or frankly sigh-seeing in shopping malls without buying anything, you'll be referred as going for 'window shopping'.
So far, I seldom go out for 'window shopping'. I don't really like going out to the crowded malls just for wasting my time by looking around. Usually I'll go because I have something to buy and I have a list ready so that I know where I want to go and what I want to buy.
However, I did went to KB Mall for 'window shopping' twice. Both are after I finish my exam papers. It's just to release some stress and people said that it's a kind of a therapy to look at things that can make you happy. And by 'window shopping' I went to a bookshop, a boutique, a handbag shop and a shoe store. I didn't buy anything but inside my head a plan was form. Yes, I was planning to buy certain things that I've seen, hehe.
Later, when the money is okay I went again to buy what I've planned.

Yes we say window shopping here in Canada too. Usually its women who do it so my kids find it quite strange that dh is constantly doing it while I gave it up years ago. Is it normal in Malaysia for men to window shop all the time?
Wa'alaikummussalam C. Thanks for the info. It makes me feel confident to use the phrase. Here, everyone window shopped, men and women so it's nothing unusual if you see men loitering the shopping malls looking at things. I don't know about 'all the time' but I'm sure men also window shopping.
