Yesterday at KB Mall, Kota Bharu. It's not easy to dakwah people when they couldn't grab the concept of Hijab @ Hegab @ Hejab although they're born Muslims.
I guess they see the scarf as an accessory, rather than a religious obligation. It is unfortunate and confusing to non-Muslims when they wear it that way.
i think we can and do make hijab fashionable.. but when its all about fashion and they forget the islamic side of dressing - then they all get it wrong.
Subhan'Allah I even saw a Malay sister enter the Masjid-ul-haram wearing tight jeans and very elaborate headscarf...I was so shocked that day even though I see this kind of thing a lot especially in my own family!
Yes, they call it 'Melayu Serba Boleh' or 'Malay Can Do Anything' but still I think they don't really understand the concept of hijab or just ignorant.

lol.. this happens all the time here.
NiDa & Ange - aren't they feel it's weird and uncomfortable? it's totally a fashion disaster.

Megan, this is a challenge for us to make them understand that the scarf is for hijab and not for fashion accessories.

I agree ange - once we get too carried away with fashion and forget islam we get those results!!
