Gorgeous Akhawat Abayas But Way Too Expensive for Me

Assalamualaikum.

Akhawat - Abaya Couture is one of the many companies that sells abayas online and this company has chosen to use facebook as their medium. My first impression seeing its collection was, WOW! Yes, mashaallah, the abaya collection is really gorgeous.

Some are very simply designed but when you look at it, you see elegant, you see beauty and you see quality. All the characters that make me like the abayas. Just take a look at this one:

The design is very simple but upon looking at it I personally think this is a good quality abaya and very much my type. And look at this one too:

The contrasting colour between the main body of the abaya and the sleeves and also the shayla makes the abaya look so glamour but in a modest way. I like this type of design very much.

Frankly speaking, I love most of the collections BUT there is only one problem, they are very pricey. Yeah, what do you expect from designers abayas right? They have been designing and making those abayas from A to Z and how can they sell them below MYR300?

This is the price tag for the abaya with the blue sleeves:
1480 EGP (Shipping 160EGP)
2,296,000 IDR (Shipping 250,000)
255 USD (Shipping 28USD)
255 CAD (Shipping 28CAD)
195 Euro (Shipping 22 Euro)
21,900 PKR (Shipping 2380 PKR)
790 MYR (Shipping 88 MRY)
955 SAR (Shipping 105 SAR) - copied from Akhawat - Abaya Couture

The one in red is the price in my local currency. TOO pricey.

Anyway, there are others who are able to buy these abayas. They are certainly classy abayas and I think the person who can wear them must be very rich. Lucky them.

As my aim in life is to be modest so I won't be spending my money buying an abaya this expensive. I can use that much money to buy other things which are more important. I know... they are really nice to look at and I wish someone would give me one as a present, lol.

Gorgeous Abaya from Effa

EFFA has many designs but these 3 are the ones that I like best because they look modest and elegant. I wish they have hijab covering their hair and upper awrah. I'm sharing these photos just because I like the abayaat.

She Inpires Me: Amal Murad

Assalamualaikum, Jumu'ah Mubarak and Eid Mubarak!

Alhamdulillah for the blessings that Allah has bestow upon me. There are lots of things that I truly feel grateful especially when it's Jumu'ah morning. It's great to breathe the morning air of Jumu'ah which always make me feel so thankful and wonderful. Thank you Allah for giving me another day on this world. Insyaallah I'll fulfill it with many good deeds.

As I was doing my morning routine which consist of boiling water, prepare our breakfast, checking the emails and messages on facebook, I login to youtube and look for 'abaya'. As usual when I watched videos about abaya, my mind keep going to Ms. Amal Murad, the famous abaya designer.

I just couldn't resist looking after her facebook profile which I'm still on her 'awaiting friend conformation' list but I can still look at the photos in her albums. And please forgive me Ms Amal, because I've copied this gorgeous photo of you.

Simply beautiful, both the designer and the abaya.

You always inpires me. I'm so thankful that in the fashion world, there is someone like you who creates so many modest, elegant, beautiful and gorgeous abayaat. I'm not a designer but I love wearing abaya and make lots of abaya style ideas because I believe, we can still be elegant and modest at the same time.

More important, as a Muslim woman, I really want others to see that Islam does not restrict it's believers from being beautiful as long as they follow the correct Islamic dress code. Ahem, I wish you would cover more of the chest area but who am I to say so? Only my du'as are for you.

Thank you Amal Murad for being who you are in the fashion world!

Fashionable Yet Modest

Assalamualaikum dear friends and readers,

Thank you for taking your time to visit this blog, read and leave some valuable comments. I really appreciate your feedbacks on the things that I've shared here. After I posted about Mr. Hatta Dolmat's creations last night, I kept thinking about the attitude of our Muslim designers who created so many beautiful-to-look-at designs but not aurah appropriate. It's not just the local Malaysian designers but generally the Muslim designers all over the world.

Sri Munawwarah Designs. Image from here.
So far, I only approve designs from Munawwarah Designs, Yasmin Siddik, Amal Murad, SunnahStyle, and Shukr, just to name a few well known designers or fashion companies which specified in Islamic fashion. Please be assured that I'm no fashion expert but as a consumer and a person who love Islamic fashion passionately, I think I have the right to voice my opinion.

Amal Murad
I have a big hope for the local Muslim designers. I wish whenever they want to come out with a new line of creation for Muslimah they will take great care in following the Islamic dress code. Hopefully they can create many fashionable clothes yet they are very modest. Just look at the abayat created by Mrs. Amal Murad, they are very elegant and stylo at the same time very modest.

Sunnah Style
Don't just create clothes that will be praised in the fashion market as beautiful, gorgeous and trendy but defy the main purpose of clothing which is to secure our dignity. Maybe the designers that created the not-so-proper Islamic clothes can't really understand and see the soul in creating a real modest yet fashionable attires because they themselves are not practicing Muslims. Sorry to say but I've seen a lot of them in this country. Just read about them in the mainstream media and many fashion and women magazines.

Hajaba
Apart from the designers and the companies that I've mentioned above, do you know any other designers and fashion companies that designed or manufactured fashionable yet modest Islamic clothing? Please share information about them with me. Thank you.

What do you think?

Assalamualaikum dear friends and readers,

Everyday there are many new designs came out and being launched here and there. Many designers are trying to come out with designs for the Muslim people especially the Muslimah. They don't want to be left behind while the trend is still hot.

Muslimah fashion is spreading everywhere in this world be it in the Muslim countries or countries with many Muslims or the non-Muslim countries. Designers are challenging each other in designing and then producing fashion which they called 'Muslimah Fashion'.

Just now, I came across all the pictures below. They are dresses designed by my local well known designer, Mr. Hatta Dolmat. He called his creations, Lembaran Hatta Buat Muslimah.

ok with a longer hijab

nice

i like it but it would be nice if you match the dress with a longer and bigger hijab.

I'm so sorry Mr. Hatta if my comments are not to your liking. As a muslimah, I just can't accept the tight and clingy dresses are called Muslimah Fashion. They are not on par with the Islamic dress code. Please create a better designs for Muslimah. You are a Muslim too so I think you do know what is the Islamic dress code right?

As for my readers, what do you think? You do not have to agree with me but give your sincere opinion. Thank you.

My Fav Abaya Designer: Amal Murad on Videos

Assalamualaikum and peace for everyone.

I'm gonna make a short update with a sharing from arabianbusiness.com about te designer that I envy so much and like very much, Ms Amal Murad.

VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Abaya designer Amal Murad

by Mona Ibellini, on Sunday, 11 July 2010

Amal Murad, one of the UAE’s leading fashion abaya designers speaks to Arabian Business TV about her rise in the world of fashion.

http://www.arabianbusiness.com/592463-video-abaya-designer-amal-murad

She also describes what it feels like to partner with world renowned French jewellery brand Van Cleef and Arpels and to be the judge of one of MBC’s most popular shows Arwa Abaya.

Amal says she was influenced by the likes of Dior and Chanel as a child but it was the creativity and originality of Yves Saint Laurent that really stood out for her and she started to design her own clothes at the tender age of 12.

Amal’s abayas from her label Redaa have been showcased on the catwalks of Rome Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion week, Abu Dhabi and Beirut. Redaa which means decency in Arabic was chosen by Amal as she believes "you can be decent but again you can be trendy and elegant".

In my opinion, Amal Murad is one humble famous abaya designer who makes Muslims feel proud of wearing a sunnah style clothing.

Go go Amal Murad!

Her creation is simply amazing!

Assalamualaikum everyone.

I've just visited Amal Murad's FB page and saw this new profile pic. WOW! Amazing! That's the word that came to my mind. This is one gorgeous abaya and for me, it is very suitable for my coming graduation dinner.

From this point of view, I think it is a butterfly abaya but I'm nor sure. Maybe the sleeves are just has one big open sleeves. But it really looks like a butterfly abaya.

One beautiful abaya.

Miss Amal Murad is really amazing in designing and creating abayaat. May Allah bless her with more amazing ideas to create more aurah appropriate abayaat. Thank you Miss Murad.
