Study Week - Today's Attire

Assalamualaikum everyone.

I am in the middle of my study week now and in a few days my exam will start. Since I don't want this blog to be left alone without any update, I think I'll share with you today's attire, inspired by a virtual friend Notti Netti.

two-toned purple pashmina + black single layer niqab + hannan abaya

and I have this Nautifit light purple wedgy on my feet.

I forgot to snap a picture of my handbag, but anyway, today's theme is purple on black but my handbag is red+black. Well, as a Muslimah with a career, we should always look smart, clean, tidy, elegant and efficient. We should try our best to be the walking example of a good Muslim to others. Even though I cover myself from head to toe, it does not mean that I cannot look good.

Looking good and feeling good with our presentation, is a kind of self-confidence. It is also a magnet for da'wah. For me, clothes are related with akhlaq, our behaviour. Insyaallah our appearance in front of others especially in a big Muslim community can help us influenced them to love Islam. This is from my own experience.

When we wear our dresses our akhlaq should tally with the way we dressed which is according to the teaching of Islam.

What is the response to your niquab and jilbab in Kelantan?

Alhamdulillah... it's very positive and people have been asking me how to do it. I'm attracting lots of attention from muslimah, they'd like to imitate my style.

Niqab and jilbab are so common in Kelantan. You can see women wearing them anywhere in Kelantan. Alhamdulillah.

Masha'Allah, so beautiful!

I agree totally with the fact our attire is an important part if Da'wah, if we look scruffy, that shows your attitude!

Keep up the good work and insha'Allah, He, the almighty, will reward your efforts!

Thank you dear Elizabeth. As dai'e we should always present ourself as a smart, imaculate, elegant just like the wise women of Islam. Islam teaches us about cleanliness which includes grooming, so we need to walk the talk as in da'wah. Thanks for the comment sis1

Masha Allah that there is niquab and jilbab everywhere there now. When I was there 10 yrs ago it was really uncommon. I knew one sister with niquab (married to an American) and that was it. As for jilbab I only saw the girls going to the islamic school wearing them (forgot the name of that school though). Alhumdullilah that they are asking you for advice.

Alhamdulillah... after the change of the State Government, lots of good things have happened to us here. Religious lectures and sermons are everywhere and practicing the Islamic way of life are increasing more and more. Really alhamdulillah.
