Tag from Stylomom

Assalamualaikum.

Hmm... it has been long since I've done a tag in this blog. Actually I try not to let people tag me because I do not like answering personal things and I know people do not really read my answers.

Anyway, this time I was tagged by Stylomom and it quite an Islamic tag so, why not give it a go. Let's see...

1. What is your first do’a or Quran in the morning?
When I woke up I always say Alhamdulillah first and recite the waking up du'a. And with Bismillah I push myself up from the bed. That's like a daily routine.

2. What is your last doa or Quran for the night?
I'll recite the ayaatul Qursi, the du'a before sleeping and Bismillah before I lie down facing my husband which is on my right side. It is said to be sunnah.

3. What is your favourite surah in the Quran?
My favourite surah would be Al-Waqiah, Luqman and Yusuf. Al-Waqiah is like a routine for me to read after Subuh. Luqman because i love the important teaching inside it - how parents should teach, guide and communicate with their children. And Yusuf, I have been in love with Surah since I was 16 after I listened to it's recital by Syeikh Saad al-Ghamidi.

4. What is your favourite Islamic hobby? Islamic hobby?
Islamic hobby... I read Qur'an daily after Maghrib just like Stylomom but I read it alone. My husband comes home a bit late because he prays at the mosque. I try to finish 1 or 2 chapters while waiting for him. Another hobby is talking with people about Islam. I promise myself that everyday I need to talk at least once with someone else about Islam especially issues regarding women.

5. What do you live for?
I live for Islam and of course everything starts at home. I'll make sure that everyday my husband is happy with me, my family is happy with me, my friends and community, all are happy with me. I know I'm not perfect so I try my best to follow what Islam has teaches me in every aspects of my live. it's not always easy but obstacles and tribulations make my iman stronger and I live with the thought that may Allah bless me everyday.

6. What is your greatest indulgence that is Halal?
Buying all the abayat that I love with money that I earn from my business and my work and wear them everywhere I go. It makes me feel happy and at peace with myself because I do not need to ask for money from my husband.

7. What is your worse fear?
To die in su'ul khotimah. I want to die in husnul khotimah.

8. What makes you angry most?
I have a list, lol. People who like to show off. Anyone who says bad things about Islam. Anyone trying to influence me in making fitnah about others. Whispering and gossiping in front of me. Zina. Backbiting on my family.

9. What is your inspiration to be a better Muslim?
Look up to the pious, aaliim and religious people around me and try to imitate the best things from them. Be proactive in everything especially if it will give benefits to many people. Keep learning about Islam, keep reading the quran and learn the translations, the meanings and the teachings. Always motivate myself with this mantra, "Allah will not change my destiny unless I work for it."

10. What is your best Islamic habit?
Being friendly and behave modestly.

11. What can you do to make Muslims better?
Use every means and tools that I know of to share Islam with others. I've been using blogs, facebooks, my businesses, my job, my expertise, my knowledge, my life story, everything that I can to help make Muslims better. I love talking and I love writing so they are my skills that I will always use to help Muslims.

12. If you had a million dollars what Islamic charity would you give to?
I'd love to give it to the poor families in this State. I love to built many libraries in many villages so that children and adult will be able to love books and knowledge. Next will be the orphanages, let them have a proper building furnished with all the best things for the orphans so that they can live there happily while learning to be good Muslims. I will donate to all the traditional school (pondok & SAR) all over Malaysia. They deserved to have the money because they are helping children learning about Islam formally through their academic systems. And of course I'll use some of it to bring the whole family to Makkah for Hajj and umrah.

Tag 5 Muslimahs to do this.
This is a bit difficult. Stylomom, please forgive me but I'd like to stop the tag here.

That's it. Alhamdulillah. Phew.

Honest Scrap Tag

Assalamualaikum dear friends and visitors. Happy Jumu'ah to all of you.

It's 10.51 am and I should be in my tutorial class now but I choose not to go because Ummi is not well and I think keeping her company is better. I don't want to leave my mother at home alone with my nieces because they would not let her rest.

And... I'm really sorry for being away for a few days. Actually I am here but I have no mood to right anything due to some workloads from my bookshop. It's the time to balance the account and paying my suppliers. So I was a bit tired to write although I did have so many ideas to share with you.

Anyway, I think to boost my energy and start a meaningful Jumu'ah, I'll do the tag from GULSHAN of My Innocent Paradise. It's an HONEST SCRAP TAG.

Hmm... what would I tell you about me that I haven't tell? I've got to scratch my head a bit to get 10 honest thing about me. Let's see...

1. I love books so much and the most that I have are a very contrasting type of books. Maybe 40% of my books are Islamic books and around 30% are Historical Romance Novels. Besides that are other type of books. Very contra isn't it? I think my English improve a lot from my reading of those novels since my teens but nowadays I prefer to tone them down and venture into more books for my deen.

2. I'm a very confident person and I always believe that what is good that I want to do, insyaAllah I'll do it the best that I can although I have to defy tradition and culture. For example, it's not common in my boarding school to see girls wearing an abaya and at the same time involve actively in so many school and social activities. Usually if a girl wears abaya and bigger hijab, she would be quite unapproachable because that's the norm. However I think this situation has change after more than 17 years.

3. I like watching Korean dramas. I even know some Korean words and keep thinking of learning the language. Well at least I gain something from watching those dramas.

4. At the age of 30 my Periodontist sister encourages me to straighten my crowded teeth by wearing braces after I have been suffering quite long of gum ache and tooth ache. Two teeth have to be taken out to give more space for my other teeth and after enduring more than 2 years, the braces were finally out. Now, there's no more ache in my mouth, alhamdulillah. I have a more beautiful smile too, hehe.

5. I was always mistaken as a Chinese. People see me (those who can see me), give me one look and say, "are you chinese?". I don't know... I think I'm 100% Malay but who knows maybe one of my ancestor was Chinese and the gene gets to me. And I love Chinese food.

6. Every month I wish that my period would not come and my doctor would tell me THE GOOD NEWS but it looks like my wish has not come true yet. I know Allah knows best and He's weaving my life so good so far and He wants to test me with this test. I will keep trying though and pray that soon I can be a mother too.

7. After so many years hating black, I finally fell in love with the colour 2 years ago and just look what has happen to me since then. My closet is getting blacker and blacker inside from all those black abayaat.

8. I am thinking of furthering my studies in Early Childhood to become an expert but I haven't tell my husband yet. Maybe when I finally decided I would have to take a rest from my job at the Library and be a full time student. Being a long distance learner is convenient for now but maybe not if I want to complete my studies before I'm 40.

9. I am so happy that my married life so far is full of happiness and there's up and down just like everyone else. The best thing that makes our relationship more beautiful is the memory of the first time my husband got to see me which was on the morning after the nikah. He had never see me before that although he did try once, hehe. I'm so thankful to my niqab and of course our Lord.

10. Usually women love flowers and tend to plant them around the house but not me. I love greens and I plan to have them a lot when my house is complete and we move in. I know I'm not good with plants but people are telling me that to make them grow nicely, just talk to them as we talk to someone we love. We'll see either my plan will work or not.

THERE, at last I finish this tag. Gulshan, I hope that will do. NOW, let's see who would be my next 10 PERSON to tag. I choose:
  1. Sasha of HAZRIN & SASHA
  2. Baran of SALAMS
  3. Lin of LINSHARLIANA.COM
  4. Enon of MULUT LASER NURUL
  5. Nadia of AIDANISM
  6. Ayscha of TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
  7. UniMuslimah of UNIVERSITY BOUND MUSLIMAH
  8. Wnorhaslina of UNGU VIOLET
  9. Syaz of BERJALAN.MELIHAT.MENTAFSIR
  10. Gurl of BLUSH HONEYDEW
Yey! Finito. Now I can prepare our lunch.

TAG Time! What's Inside Your Bag?

Assalamualaikum everyone. I've been tagged, again. This time it's by Stylomom. She said she has not done it yet. Well, yuhu Stylomom... here's my answer...

My bag is always with me wherever I go.
That's when I'm trying a new abaya in the fitting room.

And the rules are:
Rules:
1) Take a picture of the bag that you are carrying today and tell us what's in it.
2) Tell us why these things are in your bag.
3) Find just one thing that is most precious to you in the bag and tell us why.
4) Tag just three people to do the same.
Happy snapping and sharing... Cheers!
Alright then. This is a bit personal and I think I've shown my bag to the whole world in my other blog, Keluargaku Sayang last year. However it's actually my wallet and Hubby doesn't really happy about it so I've to take the post out. After listening to his reasoning, I've to agree with him. Well never mind about that. This time he's ok with this tag and I'm gonna do it.

This is my bag, POLO tote bag. It's getting well used and I really love this bag. Bought it 4 or 5 years ago. Oh, I love my bag. It's sturdy, spacious and elegant.

And this is what's inside the bag.

Everything inside my bag is important. They have their own special function and purpose. The most precious one would be my wallet because I've got all important information about me in there and it would be such a lousy business if I lost it.

I hope you can see for yourself the content. If you can't figure out any item, feel free to ask. I've got to make my answer short. Need to do something else now.

Oh, before I forgot, 3 friends to tag.... mmm, I think... I'm gonna tag :
  1. Sasha of Hazrin & Sasha
  2. Ange of Mama, I Married a Masri and
  3. miss zaza of aku & hati
I also made a polyvore set as an imitation for this tag.

I have the money inside my handbag - I paid her outside of Popular after that. I'm definitely embarrassed but nobody can see it because I'm a niqabi... hehehe. I've been tagged by Hajar!

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning everyone.

It looks bright and lovely outside while I'm shivering inside this office since 9 this morning. Alhamdulillah, it's another beautiful day. However, deep inside my heart I silently pray for Palestine. Although people keep saying, "enough is enough" to Israel, nevertheless the horror towards Palestinians is still going on. The Regime maybe doesn't have any ears to listen to the World's plea. They are one stubborn and cruel hyenas. And here I'm praying to Allah Subhanahuwata'ala for the Palestinian's (Muslims & non-Muslims) peace, if not on this world then in the Hereafter.

Alright. What I'm actually trying to share is that dear Hajar of A Voice In The Clouds has tagged me a few days ago. Oh, dear. This tagging game really has become a part of our blogger's world and you like it or not, just try to cooperate. I know, some people would say, just ignore it if you don't like it. Well, after all this is a game to bring us closer. And I'd like to be a good friend as long as the tag is not something 'lagho' or wicked.

Let's see what the rules are:
  • first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!
  • pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.
Hmm... 10 honest things about me... mmm...
  1. I'm a Muslim and love being a Muslim and I'm really proud that I'm doing my best to fulfill my 'amanah' as His humble servant. I've devided my time to 5 important aspects of being a wife, a manegeress, a student, a religious activist and an entrepreneur. I know many people out there are doing more than me, well that's all that I can do now. Maybe it'll be different when I have a baby.
  2. One thing that I need to do everyday is reading. I read Quran twice a day, insya-Allah after Maghrib and after Subuh. And apart from the Quran, I read books, lots of books. Maybe that's why Allah has granted me with a job at a library and blessed me with some energy to open up a specialty bookshop. Alhamdulillah.
  3. I'm not a good listener because I'm a talker. That's why my husband listens and I talk but after 2 years of marriage, he talks and I listen. And I've been listening for almost 5 years now. Hahaha...
  4. I love food especially my Ummi's cooking. Kelantanese has a variety of food and whoever pay a visit to our local food markets would be mesmerized by the colourful arrays of food (dishes) with so many different taste although most would be custamaryly sweet. For those who have sweet tooth, this would be heaven. And I love baking bread and pizzas for my family and friends although I'm not much of an eater.
  5. I think I'm friendly. Hehehe... don't laugh at me for being obvious. However, I do believe it's true. I leave that for you to judge.
  6. I'm probably a blogger addict - I'll online starting at usually 6.30 am and my laptop will only be off sometime after midnight. So... how long was that? Argh... my back site. It's killing me right now.
  7. I started wearing niqaab at the age of 22 during the first week of Ramadhan when I was in 2nd year at the University. Still remember the trials of wearing it in the university's compound, it's against the rule. You can wear short short skirts or shorts but you can't wear niqaab. Heh, I know... I usually take off the niqaab when I'm in class.
  8. I'm not a good money manager. I don't know how to be thrifty when I'm in front of a bookstore or a shoes store or a bags store. That's why I limit my visit to shopping malls to thrice a month. Twice for buying groceries and once for leisure.
  9. I love black, purple, red and green. If you open up my wardrobe your eyes will be blinded by these colours and I only have one blue 'jubah', a gift from my sister's trip to Bandung.
  10. I wish I'm taller. My height now is only 150 cm, a typical Malay height but I still think it's too short. Because of my height and size, I was nickname 'budak kechik' or small kid that later on was shorten to be CHIK and all this started when I was in Standard One (7 years old) in 1981. And look what happen to me? I'm always 'kechik'.
Ah... finish!
Now, let's see who's going to be receiving my tag. Upon looking at my list at the sidebar, I'm dreadfully passing this tag to:
I think I can't find 7 receivers because the others have already done it. Hopefully my friends will participate.

Hajar, I think I'm finish. Not very interesting right? I'm a boring person.
