An Award from a Friend

Friends are really precious to me. Making friends and being a good friend to others is one of the best things in my life. I treasure friendship so much! Look what I got from this friendship. A recognition and a more happier & meaningful days for me. I'd like to thank my wonderful friend and sister in Islam, Sasha of Hazrin & Sasha for giving me this 3 awards. Cute, 'comel' and precious. Thank you my friend, I appreciate it so much.

This one reminds me about my childhood days, a long time ago. I used to love cartoons but no more spare time to laze around and watch tv. But I always love Disney's stories because they usually promote friendship and the importance of family.

And the last one... LOL, I love this except that it would be good if she wears a longer dress with a hijab. Oh, is that a cute doggy?
As it would be more meaningful i I could share this award with other friends, I'd like to give the last award, the YOUR BLOG IS FABULOUS! award to a few friends that I always think their blog is fabulous. So... my friends, if you are on the list, please accept this award. They are:
  • Ange of Hegab Rehab
  • Hajar of A Voice in The Clouds
  • Stylomom
  • Farah of Mommy Otai
  • Malizea of Simply Muslimah
  • KMilla of Aisyah Collection
  • Miss Zaza

May you be happy and keep up the good works.

At the playground with the kids

We were lucky because when we arrived there're not many people yet at the playground. The kids just jump out of the car and ran to play. Looking at their happy faces makes me smile and saying my prayers to Allah.

I've promised to bring them to a playground and that promise has been fulfilled this afternoon. They're so happy to play there. The parent of the three of them were far away working as a doctor and an army officer. In the mean time, I'll be looking after them just like my own kids.

Looking at them playing happily, running around and trying all the equipments makes me feel so envious of people who has kids. You should be thankful to Allah for giving you a precious chance to be closer to Him through being a parent. Although some people might think that kids are burdensome, I believe that kids are really a gem to be loved and nurtured as a good servant of Allah.

Remember to spare some quality time with your kids. Where are they right?

Sincerely,

KakChik @ Sis. Niza

An Award of Companionship

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Writing blogs daily makes me becomes alert with so many things, Islamic things; religion, politics, socioeconomic issues, career, fashion etc. Out of all these I learn about life from different perspectives and beliefs and also the importance of friendship, of sisterhood in my daily life. I learn to appreciate what I believe more from reading, responding and thinking about what others said. Sometimes I found interesting blogs that I really want to be updated daily and I became their followers. I don't even think that one day, becoming a follower or as one sister called it, a companion, I'll be awarded and recognized. Subhanallah.

That's the power of friendship. Here, I would like to thank a sister in Islam, OoumHassanoO for giving this meaningful award, a COMPANION AWARD and this is what she said,
"Dearest All, I have really come to appreciate all of you who have been kind enough to add yourselves to my companions area, it truly means a lot to me that you take such an interest, that every so often you drop by this blog, read and comment on posts that interest you masha'Allah."
As for that, I also would like to share this wonderful award with all MY FOLLOWERS. Please accept this award and later on you can share it with your followers too so that everyone will feel honoured and grateful.

Sincerely yours,
KakChik @ Sis. Niza

I have the money inside my handbag - I paid her outside of Popular after that. I'm definitely embarrassed but nobody can see it because I'm a niqabi... hehehe. Luckily the cashier and her assistant were already familiar with me and they offer to help me carried all the books to my car.

e-Shops selling niqaab.

Assalamualaikum dear friends.

As promised, this is my second post about niqaab. And today I'm going to feature a few e-shops that sell niqaab. Maybe some of you already know about this shops but never mind, you can still venture to the e-shops looking other clothing items.

Ok, let's not waste our precious time. I've been roaming the Net looking for local (by local I mean Malaysia) e-shops that sell niqaab and also e-shops from abroad (by abroad I mean outside of Malaysia). You know, the niqaab style is really different from country to country and here in Malaysia you can easily find niqaabi wearing niqaab just like mine but there are also mix and match with niqaab style form the Middle East because so many of our Muslimah went there for further studies and they brought the influence back home.

Local e-Stores

1. Stance of Muslimah (SOM)
This style almost the same as mine except that I made a simple wrinkle on my niqaab above the nose for a better air space and looks a bit of a design.

This online shop sells Muslimah's attires and accessories including a niqaab set. You can see from the 2 examples that I've uploaded above. And also the sample of how you can use that niqaab set to assemble a lovely wardrobe just like the picture below.

SOM have 7 different colours of this niqaab set. For more information like the price and the size, just click on the company's name and you'll be at their store. They priced their items in MYR, AUD and USD.

2. Produksi Ana Muslimah (PAM)

I think this is the type of niqaab wears by the Muslim women in KSA and some other countries in the MI. PAM has 2 kind of niqaab in their shop. One with a single layer (MYR11) and the other one is a double layer (MYR14). The price stated in MYR is reasonable but if you are from abroad maybe they'll be quoting the price in USD. Just give the shop a visit for more info. And I think they only have black niqaab of this style.

Hmm... that's the only local e-shop that I can find selling niqaab. I know, there are a few shop in Kelantan that sell niqaab and I'm still waiting for some infos from my friend who's a boutique owner. She sells Muslimah clothing and she has a network of friends doing the same business. I'm hoping to receive some news in a few days.

I've been looking at a few online stores selling niqaab but my feeling is that I'm not too sure to recommend them to you yet. Let me finish scouting for infos about them, whether they're reliable or not and hopefully later I can update this post with some good news and a list of shops. Until then, can you wait?

And while surfing, I found this site, "How to Sew a Niqaab?". The article will help you to sew your own niqaab and I'm definitely going to try it myself. Insya-Allah. There are 3 different niqaab style that you can learn from the site. Well, go ahead, look for yourself.

I think that's all the help that I can give for now. My friends, if you are interested in wearing a niqaab (I hope permanently), I hope you'll find your niqaab. With that, roger and out.

Niqaab - Dedicated to Asha

Assalamualaikum my friends and wish you all a very happy and prosperous day.

This post is specially dedicated to Asha but anyone can read it too.

Hubby and Me during our bookfair.

Yesterday a friend asked where to get a niqaab and did I make them myself? I've already wrote my answer in my comment box for the previous post. As a Muslim sister I wish to help anyone in need especially if the person is going to do something that will make her closer to Allah.

9 of my niqaabs.

Insya-Allah I'm going to make 2 posts about the niqaab. The first post which is this one is about my niqaab; where did I bought them, who sew them etc. While in the second post I shall features some information about where you can buy niqaab with different styles. Insya-Allah. I hope I can do that just in one go but looking at my current work schedule, maybe that wouldn't be possible.

Ok, as promised, here are all my hand-made niqaabs Malaysian style. I made them myself. I bought a 1 3/4 m of 60" wide comfy material and made a hijab and a niqaab from it. It's really easy to make and I wish I have time to show it but... I don't know, not today.

All this niqaab were sewn with a matching circular hijab. You can see the light green one that I wore in the first picture on top.

The shimmery niqaab was for my wedding and I still wear it time to time for a formal events.

Although I love to have those niqaab from the Middle East, I still cound't find a shop selling them here and I'm sure I don't have time to sew anymore niqaab. All of my niqaabs were well-worn for over 5 years. The colours are getting lighter by years.

That's it. My niqaabs.

Interesting

An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new Muslim students to stand and.....

Professor: You are a Muslim, aren’t you, son?

Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So you believe in God?

Student: Absolutely, sir.

Prof: Is God good?

Student: Sure.

Prof: Is God all-powerful?

Student: Yes.

Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?

(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?

Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?

Student: No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?

Student: From...God.. .

Prof: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student: Yes.

Prof: So who created evil?

(Student does not answer.)

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?

(Student has no answer.)

Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son... Have you ever seen God?

Student: No, sir.

Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

Student: No, sir.

Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student: Yes.

Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student: Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof: Yes.

Student: No sir. There isn’t.

(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student: You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?

Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavour, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class is in uproar.)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?..... No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Prof: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.

Student: That is it sir… The link between man & god is FAITH. That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

Caftan for Kids

A 3 year old Nana was so happy to wear a new kid's caftan bought by her mom. Wearing caftan as a pajama and playing with bubbles is her favorite pastime.

Her caftan was quite pricey for a kid's size. I don't know, I think most of children clothing are quite pricey.

She's showing me her new caftan and when I pretended that I don't like it, she sat down and giving me that look, hehehe. Sorry my dear, I was just kidding.
